Relevant Skills and Experience:  As a teacher, I am passionate about supporting and caring for young children and older children with special needs and developmental challenges.  My goal as a caregiver is to support the physical needs of the children, but also their emotional, psychological and learning-based needs.  My past experience includes 2 years of work as a teacher’s aide for nursery, preschool and kindergarten children.  In my present role, I teach special needs children along the autism spectrum – teenagers with the mental age of 5.  My past and present responsibilities have included:  maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment for children, including: supervising, caring for and tending to the physical, emotional and developmental well-being of children; directing them in eating, resting and toileting; organizing activities for children; and instructing and supporting children in personal hygiene.

Years of Experience:  2 years of focused experienced as a caregiver.

Present Work Status:   Presently working

Prior Work Experience: As a caregiver, I most recently, I supported the rehabilitation of a dentist. I am also supporting a patient with severe diabetes by monitoring vital signs, administering injections and monitoring blood sugar.  I have specific experience supporting children with special needs:  autism and cerebral palsy.  For 10 years, I have also been the primary caregiver for my mother, who suffers from severe convulsions due to a brain injury.  My childcare experience includes caring for the 3 children of 2 physicians, ages:  4, 3, 2.

Relevant Skills and Experience:   I am particularly experienced in providing occupational therapy support and also administering medication.  I am also accustomed to assuming the domestic responsibilities of a household.  I’m passionate for caring for children and would be a great fit for a child with special needs.

Personal Attributes Relevant to the Position:   My employers comment that I have a very strong work ethic and I believe communication is important.  My goal is to inspire confidence in the patients that I care for.  My focus is serving others and helping them with my specialized skills.

Relevant Skills and Experience: I am an experienced caregiver for children and a nurse, presently working in Saudi Arabia  I have also worked as a homecare support nurse for the elderly.  My present responsibilities include:  physical care of infant, including feeding, diapering and preparing child for rest periods; supervising, caring for and tending to the emotional well-being of the child; preparing food and/or bottles; and organizing, activities and developmental games for for the child.  My prior responsibilities have included:  evaluating patients and developing appropriate homecare plans; provide nursing services; bathing and grooming patients; administering medication as instructed; taking vitals and administering medication; conducting patient assessments periodically; writing patient reports and providing emergency services,  as needed; addressing patient’s individual needs for care based on patient’s history, nursing assessment and result of diagnostic and laboratory examinations; taking and recording vital signs; informing doctor of changes in patient’s condition; collecting specimen samples, analyzing results, and notifying the doctor; administering IV therapy; administering medications; performing procedures and treatments using good nursing judgment, according to established policies, procedures, and unit protocols; participating in cardiopulmonary resuscitation during emergency situations, and maintaining proficiency in the use of emergency equipment in the unit; and accurately documenting patient assessments, observations, and interventions rendered.

Personal Attributes Relevant to the Position:   I believe that being trustworthy, competent and passionate about caring for others is the core of a successful caregiver.  Communication and patience are also very important.

Relevant Skills and Experience:  A certified professional caregiver, Dinah’s love for children and experience caring for them is best demonstrated by her weekly work as a volunteer caregiver at the St. Rita orphanage in The Philippines.  As a relief caregiver, she cares for 9 children, ages 2 to 4 including a child with special needs (hydrocephalus).  Many of the children have emotional challenges and are prone to tantrums.  Here her responsibilities include maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home for children, including: newborn and infant care; bathing, dressing and feeding an infant/child; supervising, caring for and tending to the emotional well-being of children; preparing and serving nutritious meals; organizing, activities such as games and outings for children; instructing children in personal hygiene and social development; and taking children to and from school, appointments and activities.  Dinah is also formally trained in housekeeping and eldercare.

Personal Attributes Relevant to the Position:    Although her full-time job is with the municipal government, the orphanage is what brings her the most joy.  There is an authenticity in Dinah’s desire to come to Canada as a caregiver.  Her love and appreciation for children is easy to see.  She looks for the joy in every situation and believes that hard work and commitment are integral to a caregiver’s job.

Specific Childcare Skills:
Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home; sterilize bottles, prepare formulas and change diapers for infant; prepare children for rest periods; keep records of daily activities and health information regarding child; tend to emotional well-being of child; supervise and care for child; prepare and serve nutritious meals; bathe, dress and feed infants and children; instruct child in personal hygiene and social development; and organize, activities such as games and outings for child.
