Relevant Skills and Experience: I am an experienced caregiver for children and also an elementary school teacher, with particular experience caring for and educating toddlers and student in grades 1, 2 and 3.  I am presently supporting a Hong Kong-based family as a caregiver for their 3 year old child.  My present responsibilities include:  maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home for a toddler child, including: physical care; bathing, dressing and feeding/child; supervising, caring for and tending to the emotional well-being of the child; preparing and serving nutritious meals; organizing, activities such as games and outings for the child; instructing the child in personal hygiene and social development; and taking the child to and from school, appointments and activities.  I am also experienced in housekeeping and meal preparation.  As a primary school teacher in The Philippines, my responsibilities included: planning activities that stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills; managing classroom sizes of 20+ students; communicating with parents on a regular basis, via annual assessments, quarterly meetings, monthly phone conversations; designing and following a complete teaching plan; teaching the alphabet and numeracy, reading and other primary education fundamentals, along with personal, social and emotional skills; organizing learning materials and resources; ensuring that students were welcomed into a positive environment conducive to learning; and establishing positive relationships with students and providing tutoring when necessary.

I have also worked as a volunteer caregiver for an elderly person in The Philippines.

Personal Attributes Relevant to the Position:   What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the one-on-one experience I have with children.  This is what led me to be a school teacher.  Being a good caregiver requires loving what you do – and I’m passionate about my work.

Present Work Status:   Since 2016, Janie has supported a Hong Kong-based family, caring for their newborn child.

Relevant Skills and Experience:  Martha is a registered nurse, presently working in Saudi Arabia.  Her prior roles include, work as (i) a private duty nurse in Manila (Philippines) for a post-kidney-transplant patient; and (ii) private duty care provider for an elderly woman in San Fernando City (Philippines) with multiple chronic diseases.  Martha’s present and past responsibilities have included:  monitoring day-to-day condition of the patient; assisting client with in-home dialysis equipment; administering medication; performing evaluations and testing under physician supervision; taking patient vital signs; assisting with personal hygiene, bowel and bladder care; maintaining patient documentation; and assisting physicians with surgical procedures.

Relevant Skills and Experience.  A former special education (3.5 yrs) and guidance counselor (6 mos), I have over a decade of experience as a youth counselor and activity manager on cruise ships (presently with Norwegian).  My desire to be a caregiver is rooted in her deep understanding of, and enthusiasm for, children of all ages.  I possess the physical and emotional agility to support children in dynamic and challenging environments and would like to contribute that experience to a long-term career supporting an active family.    My  responsibilities have included:  maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, supervising, caring for and tending to the emotional and physical needs of the children; directing children in eating, resting and toileting; creating, organizing and engaging children in age-appropriate activities; intervening when a conflict arises or when a child needs extra attention or assistance in order to enjoy the activities; communicating with parents in a tactful and courteous manner.  As a Red Cross certified childcare specialist and caregiver, she is formally trained to manage the health and safety of infants and children of all ages.  My own personal experience includes the care of her my own two children, during their early childhood.

Relevant Skills and Experience: I am  a nurse, presently working as an English teacher to Korean students here in The Philippines.  As Head Resident Instructor, this role also requires that I serve as an on-call nurse ot the students here (as needed).  My prior roles include, work as a medical secretary, where my responsibilities included:  reception; preparing medical correspondence and reports; and patient intake and scheduling. I have also volunteered as a hospital nurse, where my responsibilities included: triage-related tasks and intake assessment; administering basic life support procedures, as necessary; administering first aid to patients; collecting laboratory specimens; supporting and facilitating diagnostic procedures; and providing patients and families with discharge instructions.

Personal Attributes Relevant to the Position:   I am passionate about caring for children and take a great interest in their physical and intellectual development.  As a trained nurse, I am also very interested in supporting those that have high medical needs or are in need of constant in-home care.   I believe that the most important attributes of a caregiver include:  patience, understanding the culture of the family that you support, endurance and stamina.  Caregivers must be physically healthy and mentally prepared.
