Relevant Skills and Experience: As a teacher, Myra is passionate about supporting and caring for young children and older children with special needs and developmental challenges. Her goal as a caregiver is to support the physical needs of the children, but also their emotional, psychological and learning-based needs. Her past experience includes 2 years of work as a teacher’s aide for nursery, preschool and kindergarten children. In her present role, she teaches special needs children along the autism spectrum – teenagers with the mental age of 5. Her past and present responsibilities have included: maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment for children, including: supervising, caring for and tending to the physical, emotional and developmental well-being of children; directing them in eating, resting and toileting; organizing activities for children; and instructing and supporting children in personal hygiene.
