Relevant Skills and Experience: Sherry is an experienced caregiver for children, with particular experience caring for preschoolers and school-age children. She is presently a volunteer caregiver at my local church and have prior experience supporting a family in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, Sherry worked as a caregiver and domestic worker, caring for two school-aged children. Her responsibilities included (and presently include): maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home for the children supervising, caring for and tending to the emotional well-being of the children; preparing and serving nutritious meals; organizing, activities such as games and outings for children; instructing children in personal hygiene and social development; providing homework support; taking children to and from school, appointments and activities; and full housekeeping.
Personal Attributes Relevant to the Position: Sherry believes that it is extremely important to form a connection with the family she is supporting and to communicate with them frequently. Ensuring the physical and emotional security of the child is most important to her – but what she loves most about being a caregiver is that children bring out her inner youth. She finds such joy in the profession.
Certifications & Additional Skills: Sherry holds an Associate certification in Hotel and Restaurant Management and also a Caregiver Certificate.
