Jona G.

November 4, 2017 by kidcover

“As a caregiver, I realized how much I love teaching – in the context of having my own son.  Being apart of the child’s developmental growth and progress would be the most rewarding aspect for me.  I adore caring for babies, but as they get older I find that I also enjoy preschoolers and school-age children; they can make jokes and are easy to talk with.  I love to laugh – and children bring out the best in me.”

Present Work Status:   Jona is presently a full-time parent to a young child with plans to come to Canada as a caregiver.

Relevant Skills and Experience:  Jona’s background balances “real-life, hands-on” experience with formal training as a caregiver.    Her psychology diploma and her training as a caregiver make her uniquely suited for family focused on the cognitive and behavioural development of a child.

Certifications & Additional Skills:   Jona holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a National Certificate in Caregiving from VGB Center for Training and Development Corporation, Quezon City, The Philippines.  Her coursework included (i) providing care and support to infants and toddlers; (ii) providing care and support to children; (iii) providing care and support to the elderly; (iv) providing care and support to people with special needs; (v) washing and ironing clothes, linen and fabric; (vi) preparing hot and cold meals; (vii)  basic first aid; and (vii) basic life support.
