Relevant Skills and Experience. A former special education (3.5 yrs) and guidance counselor (6 mos), I have over a decade of experience as a youth counselor and activity manager on cruise ships (presently with Norwegian). My desire to be a caregiver is rooted in her deep understanding of, and enthusiasm for, children of all ages. I possess the physical and emotional agility to support children in dynamic and challenging environments and would like to contribute that experience to a long-term career supporting an active family. My responsibilities have included: maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, supervising, caring for and tending to the emotional and physical needs of the children; directing children in eating, resting and toileting; creating, organizing and engaging children in age-appropriate activities; intervening when a conflict arises or when a child needs extra attention or assistance in order to enjoy the activities; communicating with parents in a tactful and courteous manner. As a Red Cross certified childcare specialist and caregiver, she is formally trained to manage the health and safety of infants and children of all ages. My own personal experience includes the care of her my own two children, during their early childhood.
