PERSONAL STATEMENT:  The most important character of a caregiver is love and patience for children.  If you love children, you will surely enjoy every minute you are taking care of them.  As a caregiver, I would have the opportunity to teach them and also to support their emotional development.

Work Eligibility:  Sponsorship required

Present Work & Interest: Beth is an early childhood education teacher, with experience teaching (and caring for) children ages 2.5 years to 6 years old.  She is presently teaching  at Tridium Academy in Taguig City (Philippines) and would like to support a Vancouver-based family with young children.

Relevant Skills and Experience:  Beth has extensive experience with young children, particularly toddlers and children under the age of 6.  She has been teacher at Tridium Academy for nearly 1 year and prior to that time, worked  for 6 years, as the Children’s Ministry Head at her church organization. Her prior roles include have provided her with considerable interaction with young children.  She has also supported a family member, by caring her niece (who is now 6 months old) since birth; this has included dressing, feeding, diapering and monitoring the infant.  As a teacher, and in her former role as the children’s ministry head, her responsibilities have included:  supervising, caring for and tending to the emotional well-being of children; preparing nutritious snacks; organizing, activities such as games and outings for children; instructing children in personal hygiene and social development; teaching basic skills such as color, shapes, numbers, and letter recognition; reading books to entire classes or small groups; preparing materials and classrooms for class activities; and preparing reports on students and activities, as required.

Personal Attributes Relevant to the Position:   Beth has a very kind, competent and warm disposition.  She has strong communication skills and extensive familiarity with preschoolers and toddlers.  She expresses a genuine love for children and believes patience to be the most valuable attribute of a caregiver.

Certifications & Additional Skills:   Beth holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Philippine Normal University.
